The Way It Crumbles

The Way It Crumbles

If we see one more Instagram picture of a chick in a flannel at an apple orchard, we might die.

It's apple season so, instead of making pie crust, which requires a kneaded dough, perhaps you want to take the easy route and impress your guests with an applicious dessert and that cinnamon-y smell in your apartment. This is the crumble recipe we use all year round, for seasonal fruits, but it definitely comes out to play right about now.

Ingredients:

-1.5 cups oatmeal

-1 cup white sugar

-1/4 cup flour

-1 stick unsalted butter

-1/2 tsp salt

-1/2 tsp orange zest

-a dash of cinnamon

Method:

1. Combine dry ingredients into a bowl, mix well.

2. Cut butter into small cubes and (with your hands!!!!) massage into crumble mix until lumps form.

3. Spoon over your apple/sugar/cinnamon combo in a pie dish.

4. Bake at 375 degrees F for 45 minutes. Let sit for 30 minutes before serving.
